• Question: In a storm can a wind turbine produce more or less energy?

      Wind turbines have a maximum speed that they can spin at, if the wind is too fast (like in a storm) they have to be turned off as they can overheat and go on fire from the heat generated inside.
      Most wind turbines have an ideal speed, that is usually lower than it’s max where it produces the most electricity.
