Cathal Ó Murchú answered on 11 Mar 2017:

Wind farms or any power generation is measured in the power it can produce which is measured in Watts (W), as opposed to how many turbines, we measure the total power of all wind turbines in the world. With that in mind we get the following numbers:

Currently there is 4.87 x 10^9 watts (thats 4 with 9 zeros after it) of wind power installed world wide (http://www.gwec.net/global-figures/graphs/) out of a total power generation of 10.7 x 10^15 watts (10 with 15 zeros after it) for all energy production in the world.

We could do with a few more
